CPS Online - Toronto-based Workshops
Weeklong workshops at The Walmart Canada International Pharmacy Education Centre in Toronto are designed to provide an opportunity for students to gain skills needed for community pharmacy in a simulated pharmacy practice lab; engage in role play activities to practice communication skills for effective patient counseling and interprofessional collaboration; to interact with peers who are located in different geographic regions; and to demonstrate knowledge of patient medication therapy management and follow-up evaluation plans.
CPS I week 1 workshop provides an introduction to CPS courses and an opportunity self-assessment of newly acquired skills.

- Orientation to the International Pharmacy Graduate Program
- PPL: Introduction to pharmacy practice labs (PPL) and telephone skills
- PPL: practice lab
- PPL: Lab #1 & 2
- Therapeutics: Introduction to the patient care process I,II, and III
- Introduction to patient counseling skills (PC Skills) role-playing
- PC Skills: Role-play practice
- PC Skills: Role-play #1
- Communication Skills:
#1 Introduction to Communication Skills in Pharmacy Practice
#2 Interpersonal Communication
#3 Nonverbal Communication Skills
#4 Communication Behaviour Styles - PPPM: Introduction to Professional Practice theory
CPS I week 14 workshop provides the opportunity self-assessment and formal assessment to pharmaceutical care and pharmacy practice skills. It also provides an opportunity to collaborate with peers.

#11 Developing Patient Relationships
#12 Communication Skills in Unique Situations - PC Skills: Role-play #3-4
- PC Skills: milestone exam
- Therapeutics: Hypertension case study seminar
- Orientation to CPS II
CPS II week 14 workshop provides a further opportunity self-assessment and formal assessment to pharmaceutical care and pharmacy practice skills. It provides and opportunity to collaboration with peers and celebrate the completion of the IPG program.

- Self care: Standardized patient labs #1-2
- Self care: OSCE practice
- Therapeutics: Diabetes Case study seminar
- PC Skills: Prescription interviewing milestone exam
