IPGAA - International Pharmacy Graduate Alumni Association

On behalf of the entire IPG team, I would like to extend my heartiest wishes to IPG's. Congratulations and thanks to the IPG staff and members, my fellow colleagues and IPG graduates for their continuous support and great work and for electing me the Chairman of IPGAA, I'll try my level best to come up to your expectations and extend my support where needed.

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to the newly enrolled IPG students and wish them all the very best for their success and also congratulate them for choosing the right path, which leads them to their goals. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the Ontario College of Pharmacists, Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities - University of Toronto, Faculty of Pharmacy for supporting the IPG program and providing us this opportunity to direct and guide the International Pharmacy Graduates, in the process of licensure in Canada. The International Pharmacy Graduate program has been assisting International pharmacists from all over the world, who seek to practice in Canada, for over 5 years and will continue to do so. In order to benefit the International Graduate Pharmacists more, it came up with the formation of IPGAA (International Pharmacy Graduate Alumni Association).

Being the Chairman of IPGAA, I will work and advocate on behalf of all International Pharmacists and to encourage and promote networking between IPG graduates for their professional advancement. I would be working with my peers, focusing on the goals mentioned in The IPGAA constitution, especially, to promote and enhance the studentship, internship and employment opportunities network, by working in co-ordination with our stakeholders on the needs of an International pharmacist. Myself being an International Pharmacy Graduate I can truly understand the challenges one has to face especially if you have your family to support to as well. I myself am a proven example of how fruitful the program can be!!

Under the umbrella of the IPGAA, I am sure we can promote more awareness and lead the students to a better future. After all, the future isn't something we can predict; it's something we create based on our vision for the profession of Pharmacy.

I would like to take this opportunity to request my IPG colleagues to come forward and volunteer their services to IPGAA in order to fill the vacant seats for the member committee. Please put forward your nominations for the Vice Chairman and Secretary/Treasurer. I would also like to take this opportunity to announce the position of an Alumni contact officer who would be the custodian of the contact info for the IPGAA.

It is of prime importance that all the IPGAA members should update their current mailing addresses (with postal codes) and also if anyone of you could come up with their special interest stories (career achievements etc.) that would be a great asset to share (through publication in the Dean's news letter). Lastly, I would like to request all IPG-AA members to use their own net works to encourage non-members to join the IPGAA.

Once again, I wish you all the best and accept my heartiest congratulations on becoming a part of the program, and I can assure you that I will be working with you for you ....

Sincerely,

Noman A Qureshi, R.Ph., B.Sc.Pharm
Chairman IPGAA,
